The Summer of Gin in Leeds

The Whitley Neill Summer of Gin is in full swing with our African Inspired Gin being enjoyed in al fresco settings all over the country and our fans sending photos in to our My Gin Garden competition to be in with a chance of winning a Whitley Neill Gin Garden of their own.

But you can also find the spirit of the summer in your local cocktail bars and restaurants, here’s our rundown of the best of what Leeds has to offer:

The Botanist

The Botanist is tucked away beneath Trinity Leeds and boasts a huge selection of drinks and a delicious menu of summer cuisines. The cordial barman produced for us a perfect:

Pintura is a kitchen & bar, inspired by the food-crazed Basque culture in the San Sebastián region in Spain. In addition to some amazing tapas, Pintura also create some specialist cocktails, one of which being:

The Spanish Flower

Restaurant Bar and Grill

Situated in Leeds’ stunning City Square, Restaurant Bar and Grill is a magnet for socialites looking for top end food and drink after a long day in the city’s financial sector. Our talented barman at Restaurant Bar and Grill made us an impromptu twist on the classic rum-based cocktail the Hemingway Daiquiri with the:

The New Ellington

The connoisseurs of gin, the New Ellington Gin Garden bar staff offer over 300 varieties of gin and expertly match the perfect tonic and garnish to complement your choice. They also make some extremely tasty cocktails such as the:

Shears Yard

An exceptionally laid back eatery and bar, Shears Yard is an independent establishment close to Leeds’ waterfront. As a former Cocktails in The City partner, Shears Yard resurrected for us, their summer serve inspired by Whitley Neill’s African roots:

The Maven

The Maven is described as ‘a prohibition bar with a modern twist‘ and is situated on Leeds’ famous Call Lane. The bustling bar is not boastful though as it is signposted only by a nonchalant doorway. As another former partner of ours for Cocktails in the City, the talented bar staff whipped us up their Whitley Neill signature cocktail:

Cape of Good Hope

We’ll be visiting Manchester next, if you want us to review your favourite Whitley Neill stockist, please tweet us @WhitleyNeill.
