Whitley Neill and TREE AID help Niger villagers

After renewing our long-standing eight-year partnership with TREE AID back in August 2014, the partnership has continued to develop over the past six months.

Given Whitley Neill’s African roots and history, we are delighted to continue donating to TREE AID, an international charity that helps villagers in African drylands.

Recently, Whitley Neill donated an amount equivalent to two TREE AID training sessions for enterprise groups in Niger on how to market their tree products and connect with buyers. This provides long-term sustainability, benefiting local villagers.

Through radio and SMS technology, TREE AID have been influential in helping rural entrepreneurs share information on products, pricing and quantities available.

Not only does this assist some of the poorest villagers living across the African continent, it protects the environment too.

The above image shows a community meeting in Niger where villagers decide which tree product they would like to produce.

Whitley Neill are delighted they have been able to help fund work like this, and look forward to continue working closely with TREE AID over the coming months.
